Ocean 10 Studios, a film and production company based out of Los Angeles, has opened a new facility in Myrtle Beach, located at the corner of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Seaboard St.

Its owners say the studio occupies over 27,000 square feet of space.

Steve Teachout, president of Ocean 10 Studios, says the company branched out of L.A because production costs were getting too expensive.  He says the Grand Strand caught their eye for multiple reasons.

"The hospitality was great, prices were low, and film production was available here," Teachout said.  "Myrtle Beach is a great area to have a production company especially since we've been learning about the area."

The Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation played a major role in enticing Ocean 10 Studios to the Grand Strand.

Hugh Owens, president & CEO of the Development Corporation, believes the new company will be a good fit.
